Fridays Economics Launches!
The first episode is up, woo!
That took about five months. I’ve been wanting to do a Youtube channel for ages and ages. I made some stabs at it on this channel (most of those have been taken down btw), but didn’t find a format I liked.
Then Gary Stevenson put out the call to “take over your country on youtube” and I felt a little push to just go at this from an economic perspective.
And I think economics is the in. Like Gary, I’m making complex ideas accessible to ordinary people.
And not having an economics degree doesn’t matter. Hell, people won TWO Nobel prizes with behavioural economics and still no mainstream economic model takes into account human behaviour, the fact that we ARE the economy.
Since we’re the economy, I reckon we can also be the economists now.
What have we got to lose? Mainstream economics has failed us.
And I’ve looked into the systems theory behind economics that actually work and are creating an economy that serves all of us — not just the super rich.
I might have to lose the game aspect since I’m still housing insecure, but I’m committed to making this work alongside Connectioning.
